About the Speaker
Dr. Carmen Butcher is an associate professor of English and Scholar-in-Residence at Shorter College Rome, Georgia. She contributes to Christianity Today, Magistra: A Journal of Women's Spirituality in History, and other publications. Some of her books include: A Little Daily Wisdom, God of Mercy: Ælfric's Sermons and Theology, and the recently released The Cloud of Unknowing: A New Translation. She also commentates for the Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Dr. Butcher has been a Fullbright Scholar and lecturer twice. Her most unbelievable Fulbright moment was meeting Queen Elizabeth.
