Kim Benner
Kim Benner is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. After receiving a Bachelors degree in biology and Chemistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she went on to attain a doctor of Pharmacy from Samford University. After completion of a residency at Children's Hospital in Birmingham, she was offered a faculty position at the Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy. Kim began studying photography in May 2000 be enrolling UAB's Special Studies program where she was working towards completion of a certificate in color and black and white photography. She has now transferred to the Samford after Sundown photography program to complete her certification. Kim prefers to work with 35 mm media but has recently begun using digital media. Her favorite subjects to photography are people, specifically children, as she loves the innocence of their faces. She prefers to shoot casual photographs taken in natural light versus posed studio shots. Kim enjoys photography as a hobby and often gets hired by friends and neighbors. She also enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her husband, Eric and their son, Mason. Closing date: August 27, 2004
