Samford - Jordan Partnership

Exhibit: January - May 2006

Samford University Library hosts the Samford - Jordan Partnership Exhibit.

In partnership, Samford and The Baptist School of Amman (ABS) seek to develop academic and cultural exchange to optimize teaching and learning especially in the area of teacher education.

From Dr. Corts:

The Middle East is a vital part of the modern world, yet Americans have little understood the Arab nations. We are long overdue in rising above the barriers of language, religion, and custom, in taking the time to understand the people, the culture, the traditions of the region. Jordan, which has long extended the hand of friendship to the U.S., is a natural place for us to build relationships...to learn, share, and grow in understanding.

The three year partnership agreement was signed in March 2005.
For more information about the partnership, see the ABS Media Release
and an introductory Letter from Dr. Corts, dated January 27, 2006.

The exhibit is showcased on the main entry level around the grand staircase.
