Objectives

  • to enhance library resources
  • to foster appreciation for the library

Mission

The mission of the Samford University Library Friends is to enhance existing and planned library resources and programs, and to serve as partners in fostering appreciation for the library.

Developing and maintaining a scholarly library is a long-range enterprise that must have a wide base of support. The Samford Library has received many worthy gifts through the years that have enabled it to grow to its current status. With the establishment of Library Friends, we are seeking to intentionally build a base of support for enhancement of the library. Participation in the Friends allows a person to share in the growth and enrichment of the Samford University Library.

Opportunities for Enrichment

  • Honor - Donors may give a one time or occasional monetary gift in honor of an individual. A bookplate with appropriate acknowledgment will be affixed to each item.
  • Memorial - Donors may give a monetary gift in memory of an individual. A bookplate with appropriate acknowledgment will be affixed to each item
  • Gifts-in-kind - Your donation of physical items will enrich and enhance the quality of our existing collections.
  • Library Gift Fund - Monetary gifts of any size are welcomed to enrich the gift fund and afford the opportunity to meet specified needs.
  • Book-a-year-endowment - A contribution of $1500 will purchase a book a year in perpetuity in the name of the donor or in honor or memory of someone the donor designates. The book plate will be inscribed according to the donor's request.
