Databases Wrap-up
As we have seen, sometimes the full text
of an article is not available in the database. In the next module,
Finding, we will discuss how you locate those articles that aren't available
full text. For now, don't forget everything you have learned about searching
databases:
- Databases are stores of articles from a wide variety of periodicals, like
newspapers, magazines and scholarly journals.
- Unlike the catalog, just because something is in a database doesn't mean
that the library has that material, so be sure to write down the citation if the
full text is unavailable.
- When you are searching a database you are NOT searching the internet.
Searching the internet does sound like fun. Let's check out Search Engines!
