sure to write down the Location, Status and Call Number.

An Article in a Periodical
|
Make sure you have the complete
citation
for your article from the database,
bibliography,
or other source in which you found it. Search the Full-Text Journal Finder
to see if we have the periodical electronically and the Catalog
to see if we have the periodical in print.

Government Documents
|
For materials published after 1976 search for the material in the
Catalog.
For materials published prior to 1976, check the the government documents
finding aids
and check with a Reference Librarian.

Statistics
|
Start by choosing a resource from the Samford University Library's Statistics
Webpage or searching the
Statistical Abstract of United States for your
topic. If you have no luck, check with a Reference Librarian.

Literary Criticism
|
Search the online databases available on the
Languages & Literature page, search
the catalog for your author or the title of the work and
browse the reference collection's criticism series for original and reprinted
critical essays. Use the Catalog &
Full-Text Journal Finder to find
the full text of any citation .

Reviews
|
Use electronic general databases for recent books or movies to find reviews in
newspapers and popular magazines. For more in-depth reviews, check subject-specific
databases in the field and Book Review Digest, which has some scholarly sources.
For older books and movies, start with print resources and JSTOR which contains
mostly older scholarly journals. Use the Catalog &
Full-Text Journal Finder to
find the full text of any citation .
