Network Access and Printing
On-Campus Access to Library Resources
The Library has several computers for student use mostly grouped in the Lab on the lower level, the Reference Reading room on second level, under the grand staircase on the first level, and in Special Collection on the lower level. You will be prompted for your Samford username and password when printing (GoPrint) or using library subscription databases (Ezproxy). Please log-out of GoPrint when you are done and close all browser windows to prevent others from accessing your accounts. Do not logoff of windows. Instead restart the computer so it is ready for the next user.
Visitors may use any of the computers not in the lower level Lab to access library web-based resources if they are not needed by our students. Note that visitors must receive a guest logon from Circulation, Reference or Special Collection service desk to use library subscription resources. All guest printing must be picked up at the print release station on the 1st level.
Public access ports are available throughout the Library. These are the labelled 'Network' jacks located on study tables/carrels. Please bring your own network cable. To use library subscription databases from these ports, you will be prompted for a Samford username and password.
Visiters may obtain a guest login at one of the service desks located in the library on the lower, first or second level.
Many campus spaces are covered by Samford Users, allowing you to use a wireless card in your laptop (or smart device) to access the Samford network and the Internet. The Technology Services provides instructions on configuring and using wireless at Samford.
Note: Samford Guest allows access to campus resources only including configuration instructions for the internet access point SamfordSecure.
Off-Campus Access to the Library Resources
If you wish to use Library subscription resources from off campus, you will be prompted for your Samford username and password. Guest accounts are not allowed off campus.
