This antique secretary's drawer shows how family history can be found in the least likely of places. The drawer was brought to the Special Collection department by a member of the Wynn Family. The Wynn family began operating a plantation in Talladega County around 1827. It remained in operation until about 1942. The family has donated many of their papers documenting the running of the plantation to the Samford University Library.

On the sides of the drawer, someone in the family recorded when different animals were born.
